C-Unit Studio
A modern new website for C-Unit Studio, a Montgomery County dance studio for beginner to pre-professional dancers, promoting its classes, programs and teams.
01 — Context
Dance studio website design for every level
C-Unit Studio is a dance studio in Montgomery County that trains dancers from age 3 up to pre-professional level, across ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, tap, acro and more, with competitive teams for dancers who want to perform. They needed a new website to better promote the studio, its training classes and its dance troupe.
Our dance studio website design had to speak to two audiences at once: parents looking for a first class for a young child, and serious dancers looking for a place to train.
02 — The design
Movement on a clean white stage
The homepage leads with a single cut-out photograph of a dancer mid-leap, skirt flying, beside a plain statement: "The premiere dance studio in Montgomery County, for beginner to pre-professional dancers." A teal Register today! button sits right below, matching the Register / Login button in the header, so signing up is never more than one click away — a core idea in what makes a great homepage.
To bring a sense of motion to the rest of the page, we used slanted teal and hatched bars as section dividers and set photos inside skewed frames with offset shadows. About Us and Our Programs alternate left and right, each with a short summary and a Learn More link, and a full-width teal "We're hiring!" band gives the studio a place to recruit instructors.
A bold geometric sans-serif and lots of white space keep the site modern and easy to scan on any screen.
03 — The result
A studio that looks the part
C-Unit Studio now has a completely new, modern website that reflects the energy of its classes and makes registration the obvious next step, with Programs, Classes and Events each in the main navigation.
We enjoy working with schools and studios in education and learning. For another site built around performance and personality, see our work for Olympian Perdita Felicien.
