Email Design
Emails people actually open.
Newsletters, campaigns and automated emails that look great in every inbox, sound like your brand and get people to click.
Email is still one of the most direct lines to your customers. But inboxes are crowded and email code is unforgiving. We design emails that stand out, load fast and render properly everywhere.
What is email design?
Your brand, in their inbox.
Email design is the design of newsletters, campaigns and automated emails: welcome series, promotions, product launches, event invitations and order emails. Good email design is simple, mobile-first and built to render reliably across email clients.
For Homes by Dream we designed Home of the Month emails, promotions and VIP event invitations. For Talon Lodge, emails that capture a remote fishing lodge in a single scroll.

How we design emails.
Designed, built and tested.
-
01Plan
Goals & Audience
We define the purpose and audience for each email. Newsletters, promotions, welcome series and announcements all have different jobs, and the design should support the action you want readers to take.
Knowing who you’re writing to helps us plan the content, layout and calls to action. With goals set, we can design email templates built to be opened, read and clicked rather than quietly archived.

-
02Design
Design
We design emails and templates around your brand. Clear headlines, strong visuals and easy-to-tap buttons help readers scan quickly, whether they’re on a desktop or a phone.
We create flexible layouts made of sections you can mix and match for different campaigns, so one template doesn’t box you in. Once the designs are approved, we move into building and testing them in your email platform.

-
03Build
Build & Test
We build templates in your platform and test across email clients. Different inboxes display email in different ways, so testing makes sure your designs hold up wherever they’re opened.
We check images, links and mobile layouts, fixing anything that breaks along the way. You get dependable email templates that are ready for your team to use, without the dreaded mystery formatting.

-
04Launch
Launch
Your team sends with confidence, using templates you can reuse. We’ll show you how to edit content, swap images and build new campaigns without breaking the design.
With a solid template system in place, every email looks professional and on brand, whoever is hitting send. You can focus on what you want to say, knowing the email design will hold up in the inbox.

Emails that work everywhere.
Great email design is half design, half engineering. Every inbox handles code differently, so we design newsletters, campaigns and automated emails that look right on any device, sound like your brand and are built to be tested, reused and edited by your team.
Mobile-first
Most emails are read on phones, so we design for that. Single-column layouts, readable type and tap-friendly buttons make it easy to read and act on the go.
Tested
Checked across major email clients before anything goes out. Outlook, Gmail and Apple Mail all display emails differently, and we make sure yours holds up in each.
Reusable
Templates your team can edit. Modular sections let you build a new newsletter or promotion quickly in your email platform, without breaking the layout or calling a developer.
On brand
Your emails look like your website. Colours, type and tone carry across, so subscribers recognize you in a crowded inbox and trust the message enough to open it.
We’ve earned some good company. Recognize anyone?
Beyond their technical expertise, what truly stood out was how personally invested the team was in our success. They took the time to understand our business priorities and consistently aligned their work to meet those objectives.

We had an incredibly short and aggressive timeline that Envy Design Co. met, delivering an incredible website. After the websites were launched, leads continued to come in.

Their communication, attention to detail, and commitment to measurable outcomes made them feel like genuine partners rather than just a vendor. They are terrific.

Frequently asked questions.
Which email platforms do you design for?
Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot, Constant Contact and others. We build templates directly in your platform.
Building email templates directly in your email platform means your team can start using them right away, without awkward imports or broken layouts. Each platform has its own editor, features and limitations, so we design with those in mind. We set up reusable sections for common content like headers, featured stories, product blocks, buttons and footers, all matching your brand. If you use a platform not on that list, let us know and we'll confirm what's possible. We can also advise if you're deciding between platforms.
Will the emails work on mobile?
Yes. We design mobile-first and test across major email clients.
Many people open emails on their phones, so mobile-first email design means readable text, tappable buttons, single-column layouts where needed and images that scale properly. Email clients also render designs differently, and some are notoriously fussy, so we test across major email apps and devices to catch layout issues before your subscribers do. We also think about dark mode, image blocking and accessibility, like readable font sizes and meaningful alt text. The goal is emails that look good and work well wherever they're opened.
Can we edit the templates ourselves?
Yes. We build editable templates so your team can create new emails on brand.
Editable email templates let your team send newsletters, announcements and promotions quickly without needing a designer for each one. We build flexible sections in your platform that can be added, removed or rearranged, with your brand's colours, fonts and styles built in. That makes it easy to create new emails while keeping everything consistent. Before handing over, we walk your team through how to use the templates and avoid common mistakes. If you need new layouts later, we can add them.
Do you write email copy?
Yes. We can write, edit or work from your content.
Good email copy is short, clear and focused on one main action. We write subject lines that encourage opens, preview text that supports them and body copy that gets to the point quickly in your brand's voice. If you have drafts, we'll edit them for clarity and structure. We also plan how copy and design work together, so the most important message and the call to action stand out, even for readers who only skim. Writing and designing together usually produces more effective emails than handling each separately.
How much does email design cost?
It depends on the number of templates and campaigns. Every project is quoted individually.
Email design costs vary with how many templates you need, how complex they are, which platform they're built in, whether copywriting is included and whether it's a one-time set of templates or ongoing campaign work. A single newsletter template is a smaller scope than a full set of templates for newsletters, promotions, onboarding and automated emails. Reusable templates often provide the best long-term value. Tell us about your platform and goals, and we'll send a clear quote for your email design.
