Signage & Environmental Design

Your brand, at full scale.

Exterior signs, wayfinding, wall graphics, vehicle wraps and office branding that bring your brand into the physical world.

A space says a lot before anyone speaks. The sign out front, the wall behind reception, the way people find their way around. Environmental design makes every one of those moments feel like your brand.

What is environmental design?

Spaces that feel like you.

Signage and environmental design brings a brand into physical spaces: exterior and interior signs, wayfinding, wall murals and decals, window graphics, displays and vehicle wraps. It combines graphic design with an understanding of scale, materials and how people move through a space.

For Marriott Meetings + Events we designed manifesto posters, wall decals and window graphics; for InHealth, a brand and building signage for a healthcare clinic; for The Sky Guys, a full drone command centre van wrap.

Environmental design is strongest with clear brand guidelines behind it.

    Survey

    Site & Needs

We review the space, the audience and how people move through it. Entrances, decision points, sight lines and lighting all affect how signage and environmental graphics will be seen and understood.

Understanding the site and the needs of the people using it helps us plan where signs should go and what they need to say. That gives us a clear brief for the design concepts that follow.

    Design

    Concepts

We design signage and graphics, shown in context, so you can see how they’ll look in your actual space. Wayfinding signs, wall graphics, window displays and feature walls are designed to reflect your brand and work with the environment around them.

Seeing designs in place makes it much easier to judge scale, placement and impact. Once you’ve chosen a direction and we’ve refined it together, we move on to specifications.

    Specify

    Specs & Materials

We prepare specifications for size, materials and installation. Each sign or graphic gets clear details, so fabricators know exactly what to build and how it should be mounted.

The right materials affect durability, appearance and budget, and we’ll talk through the options with you. Detailed specs keep the project on track and make the handoff to production straightforward rather than a game of telephone.

    Production Support

We work with your fabricator to make sure it’s built as designed. That means answering questions, reviewing shop drawings or samples, and checking the details along the way.

Staying involved through production helps avoid costly mistakes and keeps the finished signage true to what you approved. Once it’s installed, your space looks the part and helps people find their way, which is the whole point of environmental design.

Big design, small details.

Scale changes everything, and we design for it. Exterior signs, wayfinding, wall graphics, vehicle wraps and office branding all need to read clearly from a distance, suit the space they live in and be built correctly, so we plan each piece with the site, materials and fabricator in mind.

Shown in context

You see it in the space before it’s made. We place designs on photos or plans of your actual location, so size, colour and placement are approved with confidence.

Fabrication-ready

Specs your fabricator can build from. Dimensions, materials, colours and mounting details are clearly documented, which cuts back-and-forth and avoids costly mistakes on site.

Brand-consistent

Matches your website and everything else. Your sign, lobby and vehicles reinforce the same brand customers see online, so the physical space feels connected to the rest.

Wayfinding that works

Clear, logical and accessible. Signs are placed where people make decisions, with readable type and good contrast, so visitors get where they’re going without needing to ask.

Frequently asked questions.

What does environmental design include?

Exterior and interior signage, wayfinding, wall graphics and murals, window graphics, displays and vehicle wraps.

Environmental design is about how your brand shows up in physical spaces, from the sign people spot from the street to the graphics that welcome them inside. Wayfinding helps visitors find their way through larger buildings, campuses or clinics without confusion. Wall graphics, murals and window graphics add personality and reinforce your brand, while displays highlight products or messages. Vehicle wraps extend your brand onto the road. We design everything as one system, so your physical spaces feel as polished and consistent as your website.

Do you make or install signs?

We design and prepare specifications, then work with your sign fabricator or one we recommend to produce and install them.

Signage design involves more than artwork. We prepare detailed specifications covering sizes, materials, colours, mounting and placement, so fabricators can quote accurately and produce exactly what was designed. If you already have a sign company you like, we'll work with them. If not, we can recommend fabricators we trust. We review samples or proofs where needed and stay involved through production to answer questions. Permits and landlord approvals may also apply, and we'll help you prepare the drawings they require.

Can you show us the design in our space?

Yes. We present signage and graphics in context, using photos or plans of your space.

Seeing a design in your actual space makes decisions much easier. We use photos of your building, storefront or interior, or architectural plans if the space is still being built, to show how signage and graphics will look at their real size and position. That helps you judge visibility, scale, colour and how everything fits together before anything is fabricated. It also makes it easier to get buy-in from landlords, partners or your team. If we can visit the space or you can send detailed photos and measurements, the mockups become even more accurate.

Do you design vehicle wraps?

Yes. We design wraps for vans, trucks and fleets.

Vehicle wrap design turns every trip into advertising, so it needs to be clear, memorable and readable at a glance. We design around your specific vehicle make and model, working with templates that account for doors, handles, windows and curves so important details don't get distorted. For fleets, we create a consistent system that works across different vehicle types. We prepare production files to your installer's specifications and can recommend wrap companies if you need one. A great wrap works hard for your brand every day.

How much does signage design cost?

It depends on the number of signs and the complexity of the space. Every project is quoted individually.

Signage design costs vary with the number and types of signs, whether wayfinding planning is needed across a larger space, how much detailed specification is required and whether graphics like murals or window displays are included. A single storefront sign is a different scope from a full wayfinding system for a multi-floor facility. Fabrication and installation are separate costs, which your sign company will quote. Tell us about your space and goals and we'll send a clear quote for the design work.
