Becton Dickinson
A one-sided New User Startup Guide for BD Diabetes Care, in print and digital formats, walking patients through downloading and setting up the BD Diabetes Care app.

01 — Context
Helping patients get started with a new app
BD Diabetes Care, part of Becton, Dickinson and Company, launched a mobile app to give people living with diabetes personalized tips and information and to connect with their blood glucose meter. To help patients actually start using it, the team needed a simple piece that could be handed out in person or shared digitally.
We were asked to design a one-sided flyer for that job. It is a focused piece of patient onboarding flyer design, built within BD's existing brand, that takes someone from "I've heard about this app" to a finished registration.

02 — Design
Four steps, one page
The guide is titled New User Startup Guide and opens with a friendly line: "Please follow the below steps to start your new adventure!" A light blue header with layered wave shapes in deeper blues gives the page a calm, welcoming tone.
The instructions are broken into four numbered steps: Download the App, Create an Account, Register and Finish Registration. Each step has a large orange number, a short heading and a few plain-language bullets, with app and button names in bold so they match what patients see on their phone.
Down the right side, real app screens show the journey: sign in, a welcome question, a choice of diabetes type, a personalized home screen and connecting a meter by Bluetooth. Patients can check that they are on the right screen as they go.
The same layout works as a printed handout and as a digital file, which made it a good fit for our print and digital design service. It reflects a principle we bring to every healthcare project: design for your audience. For other patient-facing work, see our unboxing materials for Faeth Therapeutics.
